Harrington Seed CO.
Rocklin High, Class of 2023
The story of Harrington Seed Company STEMs from a love for plants, nature, and all things outdoors, passed on through the Harrington family TREE. Growing up in a rural area, Andrew’s grandfather was surrounded by all things green. It ROOTed his love for plants, ultimately leading him to establish and operate Morris Plant Nursery, located in Modesto CA. Andrew’s mother, Kelly, also pursued an intriguing career in plants, getting her degree in Horticulture at Cal Poly. She says what drew her towards the fascination for plants was “!”
Andrew Harrington, an athlete & Sophomore at Rocklin High School, thought no different. Three years ago, he started his business with his father, preparing Ginkgo seeds and growing seedlings. He harvests the untouched green goods from a grove of Gingko trees, estimated to be 200 years old and located at his grandfather’s plant nursery! Next, he tours the seeds through a complicated process of shelling and cleaning them, before preparing them to be sold and shipped! He also plants, tends to, and nurtures some of the seeds into seedlings, which are available for local pickup! Andrew says the highlight of working on his business is “getting to hang out with my dad and making money in the process!”
