Rocklin High, Class of 2021
Joanne Pe, an incoming Rocklin High junior, has been thrifting for about two years. She supports recycling because the fast fashion industry is one of the greatest polluters, especially for the clean water supply. She believes many perfectly good clothes are dumped into landfills everyday. She derives satisfaction from buying high quality clothes secondhand or giving something a new life through DIY projects. For fun, she enjoys listening to music, cooking, baking, and art of any form (she’s currently into embroidery)!
Joanne wants to pursue this business when she’s older and start focusing more on clothes that she makes herself. She hopes to create her own website and conduct this as a side business. Eventually, she hopes to major in biology and pursue a career as a nurse.
